Couples & Premarital Counseling

Build connection that lasts—and communicate in ways that actually bring you closer.

For couples preparing for marriage or working to strengthen one, this is a space for growth, healing, and real conversations.

A healthy marriage takes more than love. It takes intention.

Whether you’re newly engaged or years into a relationship, most couples reach a point where communication gets tangled, emotions run high, or connection starts to fade.

You may feel like you’re having the same argument on repeat. Or like you’re living more like roommates than partners. Or maybe you just want to start your marriage off with a stronger foundation.

Couples counselling is a place to step back, tune in, and start understanding each other again.

I work with couples of all kinds—some who want to explore their shared faith, and others who don’t. My role is to support you, not steer you. This is your relationship, your story, and your growth.

What You Can Expect

Our work together starts by understanding where you’re at and what’s getting in the way. I’ll meet with both of you together, and often individually at first, to hear your perspectives and hopes.

From there, we’ll build practical tools for communication, explore deeper emotional dynamics, and talk about the real-life experiences that are shaping your patterns—so you can move toward a relationship that feels more honest, connected, and grounded.

Some common themes we may explore together include:

  • Communication breakdowns
  • Conflict resolution
  • Emotional distance or disconnection
  • Differing expectations or values
  • Spiritual questions and faith-informed roles (if applicable)
  • Rebuilding trust after rupture
  • Premarital alignment on marriage, family, and future

For premarital clients, we’ll focus on building your foundation—aligning on values, strengthening connection, and preparing for a joyful, resilient marriage.

How I Work

I use research-backed approaches like the Gottman Method to support couples in building resilience, understanding, and intimacy.

My counselling style is calm, respectful, and tailored to your dynamic. I hold space for both partners with care—and help you learn how to do the same for each other.

For those who want to integrate their faith into sessions, I can provide a thoughtful, spiritually-aware lens. But I also work with many couples who prefer a purely practical, evidence-based approach.
